Black Rigg Rapper - Rapper dance team. - Dance
| What We Do: | Black Rigg Rapper are a mixed rapper dance team based in and around the North York Moors of North East England. Rapper is a form of sword dancing which came from the mining villages and communities of Northumberland and County Durham during the nineteenth century.
Five dancers perform intricate figures while linked together by flexible rapper "swords", usually finishing with the swords linked together to form a lock, nut or star which is held aloft.
The natural environment for this type of dance is a pub, preferably with a good wooden floor and a range of fine ales. | | Members Only: | No | | Age Range: | 24 - 60 | | Meeting Venue: | Scout Hut, Marske by the Sea - please e-mail to check before travelling | | Where and when: | Tuesdays - 7.30pm - 9.30pm | | Charge: | No, No membership fee but £2 per practice | | Disabled Access: | No | | Contact Person: | Paul Baldwin | | Email: | blackrigg@blackriggrapper.co.uk | | Websites: | www.blackriggrapper.co.uk
